Leadership
Led by an operator, not an investor
Upkeep Ventures is led by Shane Smith, one of the most active multi-brand operators in medical aesthetics. With nearly two decades of experience and over $1 billion in career sales, Shane has built, scaled, and turned around multi-location service businesses at every stage.
Shane is the founder of UPKEEP Med Spa — an Inc. 5000 company with locations across New York and Texas — and currently serves as CEO of Alchemy 43, a leading aesthetics brand backed by institutional investors. Across both brands, he oversees a growing platform of 16+ locations in some of the most competitive aesthetic markets in the country.
Before founding UPKEEP Med Spa, Shane led the turnaround of a founder-operated medspa, growing it profitably to 11 locations. Earlier in his career, he held senior operating roles within a sales organization spanning 2,000+ locations across North America.
